Do Liberals have more in common with the Tea Partiers than they would like to admit?

Didn't get the impression that he was talking about the Fairness Doctrine (which is obviously an absurd notion). Seemed more like he was just talking about liberals bitching about conservatives when the opposite happens just as, if not more, frequently. Everyone thinks that their point of view is unfairly under attack.
But I thought the "media" was liberal? So now our political make-up is indicated only by the radio shows that we listen to? Sounds like cherry-picking.

whinign and bitching from both sides is irrelevant. the only thing of any actual significance here is that liberals are in fact the only people in favor of the fairness doctrine. whether one media or another is biased is of no real consequence. some people like fox news, some like air america, some like beck, some like maddow, who cares? this isnt fascinating or worth bickering about.

. . .which is pretty much what I said from the get-go.

An absurd notion that was once law. And yes, several liberals have brought up the notion of reinstating it. Bitching about someone's speech and prohibiting it are two different things. Both sides bitch, but only one side seeks to prohibit.
Cherry picking? Not at all. The liberal is dominated by liberals, print and tv. FOX, as an exception is considered to be conservatively leaning. Talk radio is dominated by conservatives because people choose them. That medium is not as dominant to people's lives as tv. The reason you're seeing liberal tv and print media failing is because the country is center-right. And all media has become agenda driven, unlike when we grew up.

Your contention is that we are not center-right? Or that CNN, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, ABC, NYT, Wash Post, and so on are conservative? Really?

Not true. Historically, conservatives have heavily favored censoring various brands of speech.
What are you saying here? That people don't choose the TV shows/channels that they watch? Or the publications that they read?
All print media is failing because of technology, not political preferences. And your point about TV is not entirely accurate, either. There is really one conservative TV outlet, and we both know what that is ("considered to be conservatively leaning" is a disingenuous understatement). So all of the other outlets struggle to separate themselves from the pack because the market has been flooded.
Where are you getting this from? I spoke in hyperbole because you were asserting that America is center-right based solely on the proliferation of conservative radio talk shows. But if the media is liberal (which I think you would agree with), then I think that's one hell of a tough point to prove with such a metric.

Then the media isn't liberal after all, is it?

If true, then McCain would be president with a Republican Congress.

You get what you pay for skippy. I don't debate guys on the street that mutter to themselves either. I just keep walking.

I think the country probably is center right. But there's nothing center right about talk radio, or the commetary side of Fox News.

The "straight news" at Fox leans right also, IMO.
