Hey, be nice about Vandy. I moved to Nashville last year and went down to the ticket office and got 48 yard line tickets on the Vandy side. Now where in the SEC can you do that?? Went down to the Vandy/Bama game and almost got a win down there. Regarding Vandy's head coaching salary: It's a private school as is Rice, they don't have to report it. I never had a lot of respect for Vandy, but now that I live here I've come to love the school and understand how important it is to the Nashville community. Their football program is on the up swing, just ask anyone who played them this past year, especially Georgia, Bama, Arkansas and Florida, just look at the scores for '06. They will never, ever be able to recruit like other SEC schools but they are playing hard on every down and never give up. I'm sure the SEC needs Vandy for the place it serves giving other power teams a break on the schedule. Much of their top talent comes from the state of Alabama.
Hence the 48 yd line seats. :thumb: Without a doubt they are better than their 4-8 record shows. Close games with: Bama 10-13, Arky 19-21, Florida 19-25. They did beat Georgia 24-22. Looks like you bette hold on to those tickets, they may be in higher demand. :thumb:
Yep, gonna hold on to my Vandy tickets, gives me great road games around the SEC. I also travel around the country seeing rivalry games. Got to see Cal upset USC in triple overtime in '03 having no idea the importance of that game in LSU's NC season. Having witnessed that game I know LSU would have beaten USC. Cal beat them by putting pressure on Matt. Forced him to throw 3 interceptions. It would have been another Jason White pounding.
Does anyone have any idea what the typical Oline coach gets paid? Like for a big school. LSU, Texas Tech, South Carolina, Florida. Those sort of teams.
Weis has more than paid for his contract with two consecutive BCS bowl games. Remember, ND doesn't have to split that money with other teams like other teams that play in a conference.
And, the coaches end up making more money than that. There's also associated TV and radio stuff the coach ends up doing, and that brings in even more money. I don't understand the UCLA coaching salary. From what I've heard about UCLA fans, they blame getting stuck with Dorrell because the salary was so low that they couldn't get more qualified candidates interested in the job. I had assumed that this was because it was a state school, but then so is UC Berkley and they don't seem to have the same problem.
Not bad at all. You know what they say, "you get what you pay for"?? Well, it's a good thing that all of the fans seem to be opening up to Les Miles, because we're demanding top 10 finishes, yet we're only paying the coach money on par with coaches that top 25 finishes get them a raise.
True but with Okie......she married a greenie so instead of getting what she paid for, she's paying for what she got. :hihi:
