the early speculation was he was considering. i am simply using it as a comparison of a politician that did virtually the same thing.
That we know of, Red. Personally, though the news is salacious, I'm not sure it's our business. I know morals and everything come into play, but I can't help but feel that all of this stuff is private and is less painful for all involved if it's not a banner across the news. I mean, didn't FDR have a mistress for years? But the press didn't announce it. And on a side note, just look @ Eleanor. What choice did FDR have, really?
i apply strict moral standards when i vote. anyone that screws around on a spouse loses my vote. that's why im voting for obama. (well, not really, but maybe this will snag some conservatives?)
i agree. when it comes down to it, i really dont think its any of our business. from what ive read fdr had a mistress and so did eisenhower.
Lott and Foley were run out of office for their shenanigans, as was Newt. Vitter could have suffered far worse embarrassment than he did, but the defense chose not to put him on the witness stand. Don't know about Allen or Crane, but history shows that when Republicans screw around, it usually (not always; see Vitter) costs them their career. Similar behavior is usually a badge of honor to Democrats and gets swept under the carpet (been swimming lately, Senator Kennedy?).
No doubt, she wears the pants in that family. Maybe she will become the second woman to be president!
