I realize it was a bad analogy. It just seems like genicide, raping, torture, using chemical weapons on people and the planet are about as worse as things can get. You guys have a field day, it isn't often that I get put in a corner.:thumb:
It's a good thing we decided liberating Iraqis was more important than bringing those responsible for 9/11 to justice. If it is our business to ensure justice for the whole world, we have a lot of work to do and a lot of money to spend. And I thought you were against welfare... I guess just welfare for Americans.
Polly wanna cracker? Invaded Kuwait, got kicked out by US, agreed to sanctions, failed to comply, stockpiled chemical and biological weapons, continued to thumb nose at sanctions, continued to brutalize his own citizens, continued to ignore sanctions, 9/11 happened, time to get his ass out, ass gotten out, ass got hung. All justified.
So you are for international welfare... Regional powers with more interest in the matter should be leading the charge. We should have remained focused on taking out bin Laden and his posse. Not only for justice, but because of the message that would have been sent by taking out bin Laden.
You are apparently too young to remember 9/11 and it's aftermath, but (and I have stated this many times before) we had been putting up with Saddam for too long and after 9/11, the climate shifted and Americans were in no mood for any crap from a Middle East dictator. Maybe he wasn't directly tied in to the WTC bombings but nobody knew or cared. All we wanted to do was kick some desert ass and everybody was all for it. It was only later that things got political and suddenly it seemed like a bad idea.
I am quite young in comparison to the youthful and inexperienced B Hussein Obama who, with only youthful vigor to counter the inexperience of his so few years, rightly opposed the war at a time when most of us just wanted to kick some desert ass. Americans weren't calling for a war with Iraq en masse, we were led into it. Many of us were angry and emotional and I think that was exploited.
