JR played a very good game.

IF LSU would have spread it out Fun-N-Gun style, we'd all be whistling a different tune. We have all the ingredients necessary for such an offense, and absolutely no need for run-pounding ball control, even if we could..you know the "I'm coming, you know i'm coming, but i'm coming anyway, right down your throat.. let's see who the real man is." You fake that junk, play action, and fling it to Doucet on a quick post behind the linebackers.

Imagine how Spurrier would have utilized our talent.

A question I have for someone at the game who was watching, not spectating (TV can't tell the whole story):

What was JR's selection of recipients for his passes like? On the AU boards I hear he consistently missed seeing wide open receivers. Obviously he got completions, but did other targets offer more potential? What are the rules for progressions, take the first available, or scan and pick?

Of course, a lot of receivers look open after the ball is thrown and the DB’s start to converge on the ball.

Were the posters in the stands or behind the line of scrimmage? Just curious if JR enjoyed the same vantage point as those experts.

Just asking a question that will be asked when the coaches review the film. Also it is why I asked the rules on progressions. If more than one person is open, only one gets the ball.

While we all wish he would have thrown the ball away, it happens all the time, even on the NFL level. Farve was sacked twice today when he should have thrown the ball away. It's a mistake and QB's make several every game no matter who they play for and what level they play at.

Most plays have a specific guy they are trying to get the ball too. If the first target is there you throw it to him, if not move onto the next guy.

However, in the heat of the game I find it hard to believe most QB's have the time to just stand there and go from 1 to 2 to 3 etc. I would think if the intended target is not open, you hit the first open target you see no matter what the progression rule. You just don't have time to do anything else.

He gave me red for agreeing with you!

Don't sweat it, mon ami. What have you got--13 or 14 thousand rep points? The punk won't live long enough to cost you a star. I laugh at the red X's I get from atop this mountain of positive rep.

Here, I'll give you some green to negate the chump.
