  1. Is that a joke? Bama's LB's have been better than ours.

  5. I read on Tiger Bait where he said that they were going to play to the strengths of the players. Now if the offense could do that...
  6. I think people are just pointing to that because it was really bad, and overall as a head coach he wasn't very good. We've had a few good DC's that gave up tons of yardage but, but not 70 points. Hell Pelini gave up something like 4 or 500 yards passing against Sam Keller, Chavis gave up a shit ton against TJ Yeates.

Plus everyone was pissed because of the way it went down for him, I mean they acted like they were selling nuclear secrets for a guy who isn't a homerun hire. But Orgeron sweetens it so much that it's very easy to now say lets see what he can do with LSU's talent.

  7. The offense did. The QB's sucked ass, the WR's were green, the OL was good and so were the RB's. What exactly is the strength of the players on D? The DL gets no pass rush or push on running plays, the LB play is average at best and the DB's are forced to play the run too much as well as cover too long. I see improved DL play with O. However LB who knows and what about scheme, philosophy, individual game plans and defensive play calling?
  8. You're welcome.

I was ref the prevalence of posts stating Steele will do much better with the talent here than where he was at.
  9. Perhaps but still seems like whistling through the graveyard.

I'm less worried about the points given up in one game then I am the totality of his time as DC. It's a real mixed bag to say the least. I think it's the uncertainty that concerns most of us. Explaining his philosophy and ideas over the next few months may help, but it's really going to be a wait and see type of deal. It may take as much as a couple seasons to really have a firm idea of what we have in Steele. I have no doubt that yaw yaw will get the job done up front, however if Steele is a bust it won't matter much. I'm still not thrilled with the hire, but we're now at the point where we just have to sit and wait to see what we have and hope for the best. Time to show Steele some support while letting him know we expect great D at LSU.
