I don't know but I sure hope so. As long as the process is supported by oil money, there is a bottomless pit to build and train terrorists camps and terrorists. They are not going away and they are not going quietly.

That is the feeling I get. Again, this was coming straight from the horse's mouth. I understand what the purpose of that show was and I'm not trying to say that it's statistics and whatnot are wrong. I was just saying there is always another side that you don't always see.

I knew you couldn't post any good news from Iraq.

For the record, I've never said "we suck, they're right, we're wrong, we're evil," or "they're peaceful". You made it up. Why don't you address what I have said?

What do you want me to do red, cut and paste it all over here? You know the good news is out there. Do a google search for good news....You'll see for yourself.

OK, I did and I didn't find much except articles complaining about no good news. Very little about actual good news, that's why I asked.

I think its a fair question, Salty. It was stated that National Geographic didn't show "the other side". So I asked what is the other side? The Taliban's side, I thought. He said no, it's the reporting on the bad news and not the good news, so I asked "What's the good news".

I'd really like to know. I think this media bias business is BS, frankly. Now National Geographic is biased?

I think what he was trying to say is that there are good accomplishments going on in Iraq but you will very rarely read about them because good news doesn't sell nearly as fast as bad news. Like it or not, death and destruction is sensational, and that sells. Besides delivering the news, they are trying to make $, first and foremost. It dictates everything that is printed, retracted, or broadcast. When was the last time you had a front page headline of "400 Planes Landed Safely Today"? There is plenty of bad news out of Iraq but unlikely we will see much good news as the media(regardless of bias) understands the negative perception of the war and will continue to feed us, because it sells.

You know, I hear this a lot but I think it is simpler than that. The media wants a story, any story. If there are good news stories out there, it would sell and someone would be reporting it. Surely Fox News would, don't you think? The Presidents Press secretary would be highlighting them, right?

All I asked is that some folks that promote this media bias business offer some evidence of good news that is not being reported. But nobody has. I think damn little of it exists and nothing significant enough to bump the daily casualties and bombings off the front page.

I think some folks are in denial about just how bad it is over there and want to imagine that there is good news . . . and we just aren't hearing it.

Anything other then a clear reduction in fighting and a pullout of our troops is going to be considered bad news. It doesn't matter if our troops get killed or there's, it's still bad news. Americans are tired of this fight. If our troops get killed then it is just worse news. I have friends over there as well and building schools(that get attended), electricity & water coming back online, successfully hunting cells down, people volunteering for security jobs by the thousands, these stories just don't sell but they are happening. When ten thousand people show up for security jobs, is this the story? No, the car bomb that went off killing 5 people on the other side of town becomes the story. It's not much of a mystery, but that is exactly how it is happening. Fox news probably does report these kind of stories more than other networks but it is still overwhelmed by even a single death on the day, regardless of who it is or where it happened.

Feel good stories will never be more than a fraction of coverage in any kind of tragedy. How many great stories as opposed to horror stories did you hear about during Katrina? The truth is that the percentage was very low in comparison. It's just media economics.

Surely you don't believe the media gives us the whole story, tells the truth all the time?

I for one aren't in denial at all but have heard from many sources that we haven't been given the whole story all the time either.
I don't doubt that things are tough over there and we have this president and his policies to thank for it since we can't fight a war like its suppose to be fought.
