I was just watching the replay. With as many people as I had in my house during the game, I didn't have to hear the commentary so much. How many of you caught Verne say, "OH, NO!" when the ref signaled the interception. Classic! This was as well-called a game as we could've ever hoped for.
Exactly, I didn't like that or the fact that the holding penalties weren't called but I believe the call of the night went our way. Reid's INT on the 1 yard line. I have watched football my entire life and still not sure if I got it right. I believe it was called corrrectly and the ball was still moving, then was transferred to Reid but the Bama player hit the ground and was laying on his back. I may need to look at that play again in slow motion. Some say the tie goes to the receiver but the ball wasn't secured. Reid was the man, he was all over the field, its like the Honey Badger took over the #1 jersey or something. I did catch Vern saying Oh No! Was trying to understand what he meant by that.
On a side note, did you notice in replay who finally tackled Richardson? Josh Down caught him from behind as he was winding his way down the field. That just goes to show you the unmeasurable "want" in our guys. :geaux:
Heard an ex-SEC ref (who was on the crew that called the 2009 Bama game) say that they are very lenient on holding during matchups like this. :geaux:
in all honesty I could see the ref on the field missing the call in 2009. He had a very bad angle and he has to look up to see if he had possession and look down to see the feet. HOWEVER, the review ref should be tarred, feathered, hung, quartered, etc etc etc because there is not a chance in hell that the proof was not irrefutable.
