Let's see if things have changed. Raman (sp?) noodles, Ravioli's (out of the can), hotdogs galore, know the pizza delivery guy by name, all topped off with Beer.

Judging by all the expensive looking new apartments and condos in the LSU area its probably filet mignon and lobster washed down with Dom Perignon and 25 year old scotch. And don't students carry any cash at all with them? Frequently I am in line behind somebody who looks like a student in a convienience store or gas station in the area surrounding LSU. I have seen them pay for a 6 pack, a single pack of cigarettes or even a coke that cost only 89 cents with a credit card. The other night I was behind a girl in a Circle K. Her friends were waiting outside for her in the car. She had several small items and made 4 separate purchases. Gave the clerk the money for some kind of fruit punch and got the change and then paid for a candy bar and soft drink and got the change and then paid for a pack of cigarettes and got the change. Then she whipped out a credit card to pay for her wine cooler. Couldn't she have just paid for it all with her card and pocketed the money for her friends purchases and given them back the amount that would be due in change for what they bought? During all this several people had gotten in line behind me and were starting to make snide comments about it.

Sounds a lot like my diet. I went all out the other night and did Shake N Bake Chicken. Hot Pockets are lifeblood too.

Hamburger helper - Yuck, Gag and Barf. A loaf of bread or some hamburger buns cost less than a box of hamburger helper. If you use HH you have to pay for the hamburger meat anyway so why not just make yourself a good burger and do your stomach a favor. Taco shells and a pack of taco seasoning also costs less than HH. With a pound of hamburger meat, some taco shells and some cheese I can make some tacos that will blow Taco Bell away and you can do it too. You ever thought of spaghetti? Same pound of hamburger meat, a couple of cans of tomato sauce and some spaghetti noodles and you have saved yourself from a meal of Hamburger Helper. Got a pound of hamburger meat? Even meatloaf is preferable to hamburger helper. Ever considered stuffed bell peppers? There are zillions of things you can make with a pound of hamburger meat and every single one of them is better than Hamburger Helper.

That brings back memories of my college days. I don't drink, either. But I ate a lot of cheap stuff on the money I made working at KMart.

When I was in college, if it wasn't a microwaveable burger from the quickstop(when I was buying beer) I probably would not have eaten at all.

Damn wonder I am alive today to tell the story! Those things are awful, but they were cheap! You know you can't be wasting your beer money when you are in college.:D

Back in the 70s there was a place on Nicholson called Pancho's. Maybe it's still there. It was an all-you-can-eat Mexican place. Each table had a little Mexican flag and when you wanted more food, you raised the flag and the waitress brought you more. One would cram as much food down as was possible, but of course a short while later ... ah ... it wasn't with you any more.
