Coach Miles is a human being and one thing about us is we have our highs and lows. After all Coach Miles and the team has been through i am glad we have an off week. Now the Coaches and players can get their minds settled down and get off the roller coaster. There was probably a great sense of relief from the game and lets face it. Coach Miles is under a lot of pressure. I wish people would get off the Defensive co-ordinator's back. I seem to remember when it came nutcracking time we held them on 4 downs to win the game. I know we all have high expectations and lord knows i want to win them all but we have a tough schedule. Lets take them one at a time and be thankfull that our team gave the effort and never quit. The ASU QB is good but i can tell you from watching the replay he could easily have had 3 or 4 interceptions if tigers hadnt dropped them and he forced a few balls. Another point is our defense seemed to be on the field most of the second half. And dont forget this was our first game guys. I am proud of this team and they fought hard and hung in there. That is what i like the best. They didnt play their best game and beat a top 20 team on the road. I remember a time when Tiger fans would have been thrilled just to win. Now we have to win pretty or we have a lot of upset fans. Please give the Coaches , players, and university your full support without calling for coaches jobs and asking for their firing. That is just uncalled for. Geaux Tigers
Calco tiger , did you watch the same game I did? That defense was so awful , it hurt just watching it.
I know. I wonder what all the Pellini-defenders would be saying had we lost that game by the 2 TDs that our special teams scored...
Saban would have slapped Pelini in the face in the 4th quarter, then he would have punched himself in the head...i think Miles needs to get physical with his DC.
not sure it is advisable for little nickie to slap muschamp. lol if i was a betting man, which of course i'd never do, I'd lay tejas' mortgage on Willard.
that was because we actually decided to bring an extra guy on that drive. even the smallest of pressure upset keller and he winged it just to get rid of it. just as we hoped it would be all game. better late than never?
when Miles first hired on, i mused who would win in a full blown alley fight, Miles or Saban...with little doubt i thought Saban would whip him...Miles seemed too easy going, and Saban a powder keg of raging win-at-all-cost,...a veritable overlord of the darkside. Now i'm not so sure...especially with that tiny hat wrapped tight against Mile's head, casting menacing shadows on a constricted face. ...now i'm a big fan of Les Miles
Probably the same things they said after UGA thrashed us last year, or after Auburn and Bama thrashed our D in 2002, or the same thing that people said after the great OT win vs Tenn., or after Grossman lit up the defense in 2001, or after the Cotton Bowl vs Texas, or........
I am not saying that their are not things we must improve on. I do think we are going to have to rush more than 4 people to get pressure on the QB. Tighten up on the cushion on wideouts and use more blitz packages to dictate what plays the offense runs. It did look like we were playing a prevent defense most of the game. That is why i am not a big fan of zone defenses. Good offenses pick them apart. One thing that Saban was always talking about is down and distance situations. Winning on third down . We lost most of those battles on third down. I feel confident we can correct some things and our defense will play better in our second game.
