did an LSU coach die in a plane crash in the 80's?

    I remember the event like it was yesterday. I liked Rein and feel he could have really done something here. It was really tragic.

    Yea, Nebraska in the mid 90's really struggled with the option.:dis:

    :geauxtige I remember it like it was yesterday. Came from NC State; had coached under Holtz; played ball for Ohio State as an offensive lineman. Great guy.

    That's a hellofa read. Thanks for finding it, Perple. I remember that morning (I was a HS senior) and knew that the loss was never explained, but it never occurred to me just how big a mystery it was.

    That's one of those "remember where your were when you heard the news". I was with my mom on Seigan Lane at the "new" entrance to the Interstate. Actually Siegan was new too...nothing but woods.

    I no longer feel real young, but I didn't turn 2 until fall of '80.
