Exactly. As it stands now, the NCAA basketball analysts will never view LSU as a "basketball school"; hence, all the respect will continue to be directed at schools like UNC, Duke and UConn. Personally, I rather enjoy kicking the teeth in of all those "basketball only" schools. Besides, I GREATLY enjoying becoming a MULTI-sport contender as oppossed to being a one-sport-only school.

Y'all, come on now. Dickie V. is in love with the Dukies, no doubt. However, it's not like he doesn't like LSU. He used to really promote LSU basketball and once named the PMAC one of his top 10 favorite places to see a game in the NCAA. He once said this when Dale Brown was here: "You don't get the feel for college basketball at other places the way you do at the Deaf Dome at LSU"--Dick Vitale, ESPN/ABC commentator He and other announcers just haven't gotten the picture with this team. They are as athletic as anyone and play as a team. It will be tough for ANYONE to stop them. LSU is in the Final Four and has taken out the #1 seed and #2 seed along the way. That's all that matters in the end.
I just watched Vitale interviewed on ESPNNews. He was very complimentary of our performance against UT (and Duke). The only negative was he may have put the KOD on us by picking us to beat UCLA. :geauxtige
That's right... Dickie V isn't the enemy. Doug Gottlieb is. At least Dickie V doesn't go overboard with his analysis and reporting like Gottlieb does, and he does admit when he is wrong. Plus, he's been doing this long enough to have the street cred. I'll also say, Dickie V is now singing LSU's praises. He has come around and picks LSU over UCLA based upon LSU's dominating frontcourt playing well over the strong backcourt of Farmar and Arrofolo. He says... "LSU versus UCONN in the final, baby!!!" Could this be the year, like UConn did a few years back, where the men and women's team both win the National Championship!???:wink: :geauxtige :bball: :champs: LSU IS A BASKETBALL SCHOOL.
