Martin is dead on about trump. He's the worst option except for perhaps Sanders. I hope he's right about rubio and bush. I thought Cruz was a real threat until everyone turned on him. Put a gun to my head, and I say trump gets the nomination which is an embarrassment.

I don't see how you stop Trump if he wins both Iowa and New Hampshire.

Every time he gets attacked he gains in the polls. This National Review attack is going to most likely catapult him to an easy win in Iowa now.

When the republicans that matter start endorsing candidates, almost none of them will endorse trump. Most of them will endorse Jeb.

The key is that trump is nobody's second choice.

It started yesterday with the national review thing. All the serious conservatives will move away from trump. Even the rush limbaughs and Sean hannities of the world will get behind Rubio or Jeb.

All that needs to happen is that conservatives need to decide which non trump candidate to back. When they figure out if that is Rubio or bush that will be the end of trump.

Another thing. The party hates trump and knows he cannot be elected. But they fear an independent trump run guaranteeing a democrat win. So they have to mobilize everything they can vs trump while pretending not to. Like national review. And a bunch of senators who are now deciding among themselves who to endorse: Rubio or Jeb. After that decision is made, all sane republicans back Rubio or Jeb, probably Jeb, and by Super Tuesday trump is toast.

like it or not the President has to be able to work with the congress. We can trash them all we want, but congress is part of the system. Look at the current situation if you want to see what it looks like when a President can't build a relationship with congress. Government by Presidential fiat is not how we are built to work.

What we need is as successful presidency. Gridlock over ideology makes Putin, China, Iran, and North Korea winners. In domestic policy, ideological gridlock makes the bureaucrats winners because they keep churning out shit based on the current laws until someone gives them new laws to work with.

Cruz is hated by his fellow Senators, Trump is radioactive for democrats and mistrusted by republicans. If either of those two are elected things will not get better any time soon.

And by the way, this country is not going to forceably round up 13 million people and dump them on the other side of the border. Never happen.

Bernie won't make it because of super delegates. They will all choose Hilary. The win is more important than what's right.

Good point, I hope it's not Jeb and he has 1 chance to get this right. He is at some point going to get his brother to endorse him, if he does this too soon it will be curtains for him. I'm hoping he screws it up because I'm not sure he can beat the hag.

That has already happened courtesy of McCain, Romney, Boehner, and McConnell. Jeb Bush is Hillary in drag.

In the very unlikely event of a trump vs Bernie, Bloomberg will be your president.

we all said this from the beginning. the system wont allow trump to win despite his popularity. Same with bernie. the system is rigged and they decide who represents each party. its hillary and not trump as your next president.
