I see, discredit parts of the argument ignoring other parts and accuse of being a hypocrite. Seems like a cheap shot to me. Especially since I admitted what you are calling me out on in my initial post.

    No big deal. :thumb:

im not so sure about that. ive been looking into it and the best guess is that it will be in secret. evidently it doesnt have to be and even the bypassed formal conference could be in secret too.

also this is not unprecedented for major and/or contentious bills. havent found examples yet though.

What part (or all) of the Patriot Act offends you? Without it, what is your plan to keep America safe? Do you agree that the recent terrorist should be given a lawyer?

Just curious as everyone wants and expects America to be safe yet doesn't want to profile, screen, run background checks, conduct searches, use the military, etc., etc.

I'm just curious how we're supposed to do this and remain politically correct.

I'm not interested in the Democrats' stance...just your opinion.

red...If you're truly a moderate (as you claim) I can't imagine you believe what you wrote. As a conservative I fully expected what I've seen from this Congress. As a "moderate" I would expect you to be more upset with the way this is being handled than any Republican would be. You stated before you don't care for either party and don't like partisan politics. If true...the actions of this Congress should have you steaming!

Just curious...is there anything this administration or Congress has done wrong?

I've remained a registered GOP, just because I think they are our best chance of achieving my impression of what good government should be. They don't get my money, though, except at tax time. I used to tell off the committee people who would call looking for donations. Now I don't even want to give them a piece of my mind, much less my money, so I just hang up on them......loudly.

All total Bull****. Pelosi, Reid and Obama were determined to pass a Healthcare reform bill and are doing so regardless of the content of the bill and the consequences (mostly unintended) of doing so. There is a House Bill and a Senate Bill, both so unwieldy and convoluted that even the basic concepts are in question and there is no agreement as to the total content and cost. Hashing out the final version behind closed doors with only Democrats involved is not what I call transparent. Bush screwed up his chance and lost the election for the GOP. That does not give the other party license to shove their utopic visions up our collective asses.

How do you negotiate a compromise with someone if you won't even let them in the meeting?
