most of the non working poor already have health coverage (medicare and medicaid). this bill will provide coverage to poor, working americans.

half of the uninsured work full time -- http://aspe.hhs.gov/health/Reports/05/uninsured-cps/index.htm#work

    Why, because I hate Obama?
    Does that make me unworthy?

This isn't the first time the Democrats have spat on the legislative procedure to ramrod this bill through. They withdrew a 700 page amendment while it was being read after Republicans tried to use its reading as a stall tactic. That was very clearly a violation of the floor rules of the Senate which are virtually unchanged since the Senate was founded.

I admitted the republicans did as much. This practice is relatively common. The point I made is that no congress has past a bill this large or substantial along party lines by bypassing the House-Senate conference committee. If I am wrong, please point to a case in which this has happened. If you can, I will apologize but if you can't, please acknowledge that my statement was not hypocritical.

Hypocricy in what way? My support of Bush? I've clearly stated that my support of Bush was based upon his National Security policies. What's your problem with me? Spit it out.

Ahhh, the left wing line there. Think about this. Is it possible that it's not the republicans that are practicing partisan politics by not voting for the bill but rather, the dems, who don't really believe in the bill are practicing party politics by voting for it? Think of the evidence. Sweetheart deals for Louisiana and Nebraska. Seems to me, all things being equal and no parties involved this deal would fail miserably. Unfortunately, the dems are lining up behind a deal they don't believe in because of party pressure and favors.
