They are not intelligent enough to realize the POTUS is the President of the United STATES. You have to win the majority in enough STATES to make that claim. The EC prevents the votes in one state from contaminating the vote in another state. It was an ingenious invention. The Dims want to change it to the POTPOTUS. President of the People of the United States. Simply put, that is not what the position was created to be.
