Given the magnitude of Clinton's scandals, and the fact that they were played out in front of the whole world, I'd think they could have very well had an impact on his professional life. Then again, I also think there is a good chance he is enough of an s.o.b. he probably didn't care one bit. Thus my saying these things may or may not have been distractions for him. I really don't know, but I don't rule out the possibility.

My point is that Republicans don't parade Republican victims on conservative
radio and tv claiming they are there for different reasons when they are really
    there because of politics.
The Democrats do this all the time.
Cindy Sheehan, The four women parading on tv now who lost their husbands.
Was Cindy Sheehan just mourning or did she have other motives?
I think the truth is rather obvious.

My other point was Democrats have done some unbelievable stuff the last few
years such as the book, the assasination of Nixon as well as the call for the
assasination of Bush or comparing Bush to Hitler.
I can't believe just how far they go these days, that is all.

I'm not saying Republicans are perfect by no means either but the extremes
the left go today is unreal.
Speaking of that, next time we have a casualty count, what percentage of
that is the Democrats responsible for because of their irresponsible conduct
of announcing to the world that we are divided and not united, by saying
this is Bush's war and its Vietnam.
The enemies here this rhetoric too you know?
The enemy seems to think we will cut and run and I wonder why?

Are you kidding? What you are saying is Republicans don't play political games? Is that really the claim you are making?

    That is stupid.

    The assaination of Nixon???

This is the single biggest crock of crap I have ever read. Political dissent comforts the enemy and is un-American. BS. What it translates too is the right can't counter the left's objections to the needless war in Iraq so they say "hey look over there. Those guys hate America."

I don't think that's what he's saying. Of course Republicans play political games, they just aren't as fake. Democrats parade as if they are on a mission to help people or whatever other cause they have, but they are always trying to use it for political reasons. You don't see Republicans do that very much. The dirty way that Liberals operate (even relative to politicians in general) makes me never want to be associated with the Democratic party.

I'd have to say that, at a certain level, it does. Tell me the enemy doesn't feed off of dissent within their enemy. They do, because they rightfully view it as a weakness. Does that mean people shouldn't be able to voice their opinions? No, but when they take it to far (as Lib's often do), it is counter productive.

Sourdough, you are incredibly naive or you are wearing blinders.

Ann Coulter callously says to 9/11 widows "These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arrazies. I've never seen people enjoying their husbands' deaths so much." Later, she adds: "And by the way, how do we know their husbands weren't planning to divorce these harpies?"

LINK -- Is Ann Coulter only bashing widows for the publicity?

Ann Coulter is a cold-blooded right wing propagandist trying to sell a book and you are bashing 9/11 widows along with her. You are cold, man. You think they don't have a right to have political views? Amazing.

Get real, the radical right under Rove is famous for dirty politics, like forming a political action committe to slime a highly decorated Vietnam veteran for political purposes. They did the same thing to a Vietnam Veteran and former POW Republican John McCain in 2000.

I can give you dozens of examples of Republican extreme dirty politcs if you really want to go there, SDman. Your bias is showing on this issue. All politics are dirty.

But 9/11 widows who are exercising their free and legal rights as citizens in the US ain't even close to dirty. You just don't like what they are saying and are having a difficult time continuing to defend this war in Iraq. So you try to attack their credibility. Good luck.

The Republicans and Democrats are both guilty of going way over the line, Ann Coulter is just the latest and the most callous.

I can see this. It's not a cinch, but it could possibly have affected him.

This is a really big stretch, though. Got an example?

DEM's had a bad week last week huh? Must be horrible for DEM's to have to hope for death and carnage, rioting in the streets home and abroad to win elections.

You have no idea of how a democracy works, do you? You are putting your personal loyalty to a politician above respect for the Constitution of the United States of America. We have a right and a duty to speak out as citizens against incompetent leaders in this country. We do not have to walk in goose-step with the party currrently in charge. The kind of blind loyalty to a charismatic leader that you advocate is far from democracy and far, far from the American way.

I have a very different opinion of what constitutes un-American behavior than you do, amigo.

No examples, just the fact that a continuous pattern of immoral behaviour can sometimes mean that someone really does not care about the perception of their character. That would be half the issue, I guess. Now, I can see where he would have been more likely to be distracted over potential criminal charges he faced as a result of some of his activities and these would have been a distraction. I think he very well might not have cared one bit over his womanizing scandals.

Nope, we have the very American patriotic view that when men are in combat for the freedom of another country that we stand by them and make sure they know they have our support. It's unpatriotic to continually give the enemy hope that with their continued atrocities against innocent civilians in Iraq, we will be forced to cut and run. With Vietnam, enemies across the globe are working from a playbook on how to get Americans to leave and drop the wars we fight. Murtha, Kerry and his ilk give the enemy hope everyday with their-political-based comments about an "illegal war" and "bringing our troops home."

To my eyes, the only thing that resembles Vietnam in this war is the emboldened and hopeful enemy that with enough protests from misguided and yes, ridiculous Americans that our troops will be forced to leave even though we are winning the war.
