Name any network you want to out there on tv. They all disguise their reports like they aren't biased but are slanted left. I guess it depends on where one sits before where one stands right or left. Perfect example is Dan Rathergate and you people also gave them a free pass.
I have mlb 2k7 also and love it but its so hard to try and get away from college hoops especially at tourney time. I would rather discuss this kind of stuff in the video forum anyway, more fun, politics is just plain boring to me these days. I'm totally to the right thats my proof. Actually I probably used the wrong word in this forum. Name any network on tv you want to, they all claim to be objective reporters and are slanted either to the left or to the right including NPR. I don't buy that crap that NPR is down the middle. I have listened to it before when I had to at work and they certainly weren't conservative at all or down the middle.
NPRs slant varies from station to station. The Atlanta affiliate that I listen to is very conservative. Overall their coverage is pretty balanced. Their national stories are very objective. They make very strong efforts to provide context that the mainstream networks do not. I wouldn't rely on it as my sole media outlet, but I think it is the best on the radio. Plus they play awesome jazz and classical music.
Yeah, I don't read nearly as much as I should, so I'm somewhat confined to the radio. I'm trying to change that, though. Any net recommendations? You think so? I've never gotten that. It always seems to be on a very even keel (sp?) to me. They generally present the story as well as thoughts and reactions from both sides, be it a domestic or global issue.
no, npr is wildly liberal. if you really must listen to one source i would try bbc radio, maybe it is on sirius or something.
that newsreading style that they do on npr can get annoying they talk like a tired grandma reading to a child before bed. so gentle and quiet. i wish they were more up in my grill. i really really like science friday on NPR, which i listen to, every episode, in podcast form.
I'll check out BBC, but I still don't buy this NPR-liberal thing. I don't think that I could tolerate it that long if it was. Like Air America, I could listen to it for about 10 minutes before it started sounding like an episode of Pee-Wee's Playhouse. See, I much prefer the gentler approach. It makes it much easier to digest what they're saying. They seem so much more factual than they do opinionated.
Thats funny, that reminds me of a story I heard from a Boston Red Sox fan I met when I was in Massachusetts. He told me that he was in a sports bar near Fenway Park when he heard someone say the same thing, he then turned around and there was Ted Kennedy! We know for a fact that John Kerry was no where around at any time because he didn't know the Red Sox played at Fenway Park!
