But Miami losing hurts Florida's SOS, which in turn hurts LSU's SOS, doesn't it? I'll switch it anyway, but it might not be a clear-cut one for that game.
Well, unless I have something wrong, today went really well for us! We had 4 out of the 5 games that could affect LSU and/or USC's BCS rankings go LSU's way!
Regarding Miami: If Kentucky beats Tennessee tommorow morning, Florida clinches an SECC game spot (tiebreaker with UGA). Thus, we root for Miami to win to help UF's SOS and, thus, our BCS score. If UT beats UK and Florida beats FSU, we want Pitt to beat Miami since, even though our SOS score will be negatively affected, a Miami loss gives Florida slightly better chance to pass UT in the BCS Florida passing Tennessee in the BCS would give them a SECC game berth.
Agreed that if we know Florida has won and Tennesee has lost, then by all means we want Miami to win in the late game tonight. Miami win slightly helps LSU's SOS and slightly hurts USC's SOS at the same time. But if Tennessee wins, then a Miami loss is more beneficial to Florida finishing ahead of Tennessee in the BCS than the little gain we get in the SOS by a Miami win. So we root for or against Miami after we know the Tennessee and Florida outcomes.
We were pulling for Ole Miss because Miss. St. played Oregon, one of USC's opponents. The game is a wash for us but it hurts USC more. Plus, I think more of our opponents played Ole Miss than played Miss. St., but I'm not positive about that.
