I found an example of Hotty Totty on this webpage. This page must be ancient, because it has LSU as 0-7 in the SEC. Anyways, click on the rebel icon and you too can hear Hotty Totty in all its greatness.
It was a very well explained answer but......regardless, I must say it might be the most retarded thing ever......
I understand that it seems stupid to some of you... But as an ole miss fan it is not about what the cheer says, but rather about the fact that it pumps the team up... The cheer is old and much like many other historical traditions that schools have, it makes sense to them and may not to others... Much like the fact that UA goes by the crimson tide and yet they are the elephants.. or auburn with there whole "war eagle" thing... If you dont like it that is fine... you dont have to...its your opinion... If you cant understand that, then I cant help you... sorry, if you guys want to keep flaming me... but thats the best I can do to clear it up...
bhamreb, What is the status of the Ole Miss mascot? Are there plans on changing it for political correctness? I'm tired of playing teams with confusing mascots i.e. Alabama "CrimsonTide/Elephants", Auburn "Tigers/WarEagle/Plainsmen", etc.
Guys, I would not flame them for their gay cheer. We still do freakin "Two Bits" before every home game. Can't get much gayer than that. Of course, people all over the LSU campus don't yell "Two Bits" at the opposing teams....
good question... It is still up in the air... They dont really know what they are going to do... I dont see any way that they will change it from the ole miss rebels, but Col. Rebel may be gone for good... The PC versions that they came up with were soooooo bad that they were laughed off.... There is a lot of heat on our AD to fix it... I personally hope that they resolve it soon... I dont really care what they do, its just one more controversy to distract from football....
It looks like Col.Reb is gone for good--not by popular outcry but by administrative fiat. The ADM. came up with two horrible alternatives---Rebel Bruiser and Rowdy Rebel-- but both were soundly rejected by fans. Guess we are without an official mascot. I think Col Rebel only dates from 1978 or so. But its the times we live in-- Col Rebel isn't politically correct.
How about the Ole Miss Team Formerly Known As The Rebels? Nah...a helmet big enough for that name would be the size of Eli's ego...
you have to be kidding me... if you were talking about peyton, I could see it... Eli is probably one of the least egotistical football players out there... You will never see him taunting or ever hear or read about him talking smack....
