Listed as one of the Top O-linemen in the Country Ryan Miller committed early maybe before the season started to A&M he is one of the Top offensive linemen in the country. I knew something was up when I heard rumors that he came to 2 games in the last month at LSU. This would be huge and it would get Fran back for the Archie McDanial deal last year.:lsug:
We don't even play A&M and we are stealing recruits away from them. What will their AD say about us now? What will A&M AD try and ban our coaches from going and recruting in Texas?
http://interact.fansonly.com/recruiting/pros_card.cfm?recruit_id=400&sport=football&dbyear=03 Still shows up as a "GERBAL" for Texas A&M. The kid is a Hodge 150 player. I guess he saw that azz whippin' OKLA put on Texas A&M and lost his nerve, LOL. We need to watch this one closely, he could be trouble.
I am almost positive this kid has been at every single home game. If not every one, pretty close to it....
Aggies still list him as a commit, but we all know they are slow: http://scout.theinsiders.com/a.z?s=187&p=9&c=8
From an Ag-E board, obviously in reponse to an LSU fan: ____________________________________________________ Why don't you guys leave the aggies alone..... Reply -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- they have enough to worry about without you guys coming over here popping off about Ryan decommitting. The kid really had a tough time with his decision and agonized over it, because of his family's long ties with the school. a&m is an excellant university and is the best in the state of texas. It is unfortunate that they got rid of their most successful coach ever and a great man, at that, in R.C. Slocum. The aggie fans do not deserve in the least bit what is happening to them this year...their administration might, but their players and most of their fans do not. Most of them had no choice in the matter of hiring francione, who obviously has some character issues for not being willing to go to his last team to tell them he was leaving, and never went to tell them personally he was leaving and he was sorry for what he did to them in convincing many of them to stay at bama, and then leaving when the tough got going for them with the sanctions. Obviously, Archie has some of the same character flaws in that he decides to decommit without telling the LSU coaches he was going to do so, and did so during the final week, a dead period for recruiting at that, when it was impossible for them to replace him, recruit another lb, etc.etc.etc. At least Archie had the excuse of being a young kid when he screwed over the LSU coaches and team with his decision. And we certainly would not want a player who may have not been happy with his decision anyway. The problem is the timing of what he did. At least Ryan Miller had the character and good sense and decency to tell the aggie coaches now, so that they can go out and recruit someone else. It looks like based on history that McDaniel and Francione have a lot in common with their character, and he is probably, for that reason alone, at home with coach francione. So let a dead horse lie and leave these poor aggie fans to themselves to agonize over what has transpired in the past year to their team. They certainly do not need any help in feeling miserable about it. I know some will claim that there were some death threats or something like that and that's why francione never went back to talk to his team, but that seems to be a pretty pathetic and lame excuse. First, he should have told his team before anyone new about it, and there would not have been any threats made before he got in and out of bama. Second, there is right and wrong, and that was clearly wrong. He could have gotten his family out of the state and come back if that were really a serious concern. Like anyone was really staking him out and would have known when he was in town and would have gone and killed him????? Right. No, he just lacked the character to do what was right. Maybe though he has learned his lesson and will not do such a thing to such great fans and to such a great institution. I for one hope so, and you should, too.
