At different occasions anywhere between none to too many to keep track of. Did you have any trouble understanding Steve the crocodile guy?
When my daughter was doing her 18 month tour of the world, she met an Australian girl in India. My daughter was 22, Emma was 18. Apparently, it's a normal thing for Australian kids straight out of high school to take a year and travel. The became fast friends. Turned out they were both heading to Peru. They traveled together and had a great time. My daughter changed her plans and met Emma R. in Australia a few months later. Since then, they have met several times stateside. I have met her and she is a great kid. My daughter and she swear they are best friends. Interesting to me how that generation sees the world as so small. They think nothing of hopping on a plane and going 12.000 miles to see a friend.
My son and his family just left here headed back to Lafayette. They are stopping at sisters house in Biloxi to check on road situation before heading home. It's been in the mid 80's here for the last week or so. Cold front hit here last night, low to mid 70's..
Now that’s where I can start thinking some from south Louisiana are full of their self’s. If you don’t live south of I-10 you’re not from la. and that’s BS.
It really isn't when its put into the proper context. Those of us from south of I-10 were just born into what La is. You can travel the world and meet lots of different people and if you say you are from La they will ask if you are a Cajun or about Gumbo or Mardi Gras. Louisiana changes north of I-10. It just does. Different trees, dirt, religions, dialect, accent, they probably put tomatoes in their gumbo. Everything is different up there and it just isn't the things that La is known for. I call anything north of I-10 "South Arkansas" I'm not saying its a bad thing (except for tomatoes in the gumbo) I'm saying its different, because it is.
I can understand that as I have said the same about Alabama. I learned gumbo from someone from N. Louisiana and it had tomatoes. I’ve seen a bunch of different types of gumbo from shows showcasing different chefs around S.Louisiana.
