If I'm attacked personally, I'm going to respond in kind. I'm obviously not from the PC generation. If me being me gets me banned, so be it. I had a good life before I found this place and will have a good life afterwards if I'm unable to post.

There is a Perry Belcher quote we operate by at my office that reminds me of this scenario.

“Nothing will kill a great employee faster than watching you tolerate a bad one”

I understand posters are not the admins employees, but great posters have left due to the tolerance given to the bad ones.

As a Tiger fan in Texas surrounded by a lot of Aggies and T-sips, I come here for camaraderie with my LSU brethren to discuss LSU sports away from the haters in orange & maroon.

I don’t want to see this place go and I hope that we can figure it all out.

One thing I haven't seen discussed is the Ignore feature. If you don't like a members posts, put them on Ignore. Seems like an easy solution to me. Am I wrong?

I find it hard to ignore someone.... I’m interested in the perspective.... I used to do a lot of orientations and would advise that there’s 360 degrees in a circle.... lots of different viewpoints based on culture, gender, race, etc.
the ‘golden age’ of TF was posters engaged in conversations within accepted parameters.... we’ve lost that civility.... we aren’t interested in persuading, because we’re too busy proving we’re right....

This site is the only one I use to talk LSU football. I'd hate to see it permanently shut down. Thanks to those of you keeping things going. I have no experience with creating or policing a internet site so I don't know what it entails but I can imagine trying to keep things on an even keel between a number of people with conflicting views and passionate opinions can be a pain in the neck at times.
I was never banned but I did receive some hate, took some heat for my dislike for the former coach and had some private messages as a result of going back and forth with other members. But I am still here and look forward to doing this every football season.

Interesting post. I agree with you that society as a whole has lost that civility and it has extended to this board. Do you think it's primarily in the political threads or across the board?

I’m not sure and will have to look closer, but certainly the discourse has elevated passions paralleling the trump years.

Personally I think it goes back much further than four years.
