Higher revenues won't go toward paying down debt. Just give them more money to pay for crap that is already in place. They need to cut 10% off the top now and forget about any tax increases. You should never steal from one group and give it to another. I agree they need to reform the tax code.
The Republicans will pass some sort of debt ceiling increase with appropriate cuts attached. They'll pass it on and the ball will be in the Dem controlled Senate and President half-blackie's court.
The Debt ceiling was raised 7 times under Bush. Now they are using this as a political chip, which has never been done before. Politics at it's finest.
That's crazy. No one wants another recession. Just because you disagree with someone on policy doesn't make that person evil.
