I don't know if ya'lls lists are either/or, but we won't be taking 2 LB's, 2 OT's, etc. Anyways, my list: 1. Patrick Johnson 2. Arthur Brown 3. Chris Tolliver 4. Matt Patchan
Apparently he has no grades & our coaching staff has not really been on him. I want Brandon. He's a bit of a reach at this point (considered a Clemson lock), but we won't get Justin. LSU is not going after him. Agreed. Per his father recently, his final 3 are Miami, Florida, and LSU. We're definitely in the mix.
Hypothetically speaking, if we can get two major LBs like Brown and McCray you dont think we take them? Especially with our serious need. I dont at all see Cutrera being a SEC LB and Sheppard hasnt done much to give any hope. Riley looks like he is ready to take over. Id drop Hatcher, if you commit, you commit, not this waivering crap. My list: 1 :crystal: 2 DC Tenuta 3 Patrick Johnson 4 Arthur Brown 5 Matt Patchan/Tolliver(mainly so Satan doesnt get him since we are so deep at WR)
I agree with you. LSU needs big time linebackers, especially with the question marks at DB over the next few seasons, we need playmakers who cause havoc in the passing game (blitzing, coverage, etc). CParso, for whatever reason, and I am sure he can speak for himself, thinks we only need 1 more linebacker.
We have 3 LB's committed already. We don't need 1 more, but we're willing to take one more if it's an impact guy like Arthur Brown.
Kellen Theriot is also supposed to be a LB. He makes up the third. Personally, I dont think you pass up McCray just because you get Brown. Those are two special players and right now LSU is in a serious need at LB. With an in-experienced secondary we will certainly need strong LBs. Im pretty confident the secondary will be strong, I just hope the DL plays to their ability next year. Still, we need LBs bad, Cutrera and Sheppard wont cut it. Clemons can be moved to LB to get him on the field and help out.
Disagree..they are both fine looking prospects learning the position at the college level. JC was hurt..he played better last year than this year. Shepperd is a super aggressive hard hitter with good athletic ability.
Ive said it since last year. I like Cutrera, the kid goes all out but IMO he lacks the speed to play big time SEC ball. At times he looks great but when it comes down to it his lack of agility, quickness, and speed will hurt against the quicker SEC teams. He is a great special teams player and back up. I just dont see him being a starter. In his playing time Sheppard hasnt done anything to show promise. Of course he rarely sees the field, but still when he does. Same thing, Sheppars has done great on special teams but Im not secure with either one being a starter. I hope Im wrong and youre right, but IMO neither is capable as of now.
