What's with all of the bitching and discontent? How about some of you guys act like fans and support your team? I promise you it is more fun than what you are doing now, which is setting yourself up to be able to say "See! I told you so!" when we eventually lose a game. If you are too dense to realize that when you are blowing out teams, you run the football, thereby bringing imbalance to your rushing numbers, then I really don't care what opinion follows on anything else because you have already proven that you are football stupid.
Your results are skewed. Against MSU, the Tigers passed far more than they ran the ball when they built up their lead. It was not until the second half with the game firmly in hand that Les began focusing on running the ball. I am hoping that was a change in offensive philosophy because this offense is geared to the passing game. Russell throwing the ball to Doucet, Bowe and Davis is better than anything else in the SEC right now and the offenssive line's pass blocking is light year's better than their run blocking. The sign of a smart coach is one who will change his philosophy to make best use of his talent rather than force his players to do something that they do not do well...
robidaux and squidboy nailed it. also, i just so happened to have checked the AU stats following that game. We had 60 total plays. 42 passes, about 5 ended ended up runs but initial call was a pass. 18 runs. thats 70% passes junior. you're right it is unbalanced. we need to run more. does anyone ever have an original thought anymore? parrots of the already talking-head parrots is all we have left.
Zinc is Ramah's new handle? That explains a lot! He ranted about "conservative" play calling in another thread, and I asked what the heck he wants - for LSU to never punt? Now I see Ramah-Zinc wants the Tigers to pass more! This team is passing more and using the pass to set up the run more than just about any LSU team that I've seen. And I've been following the Tigers closely for 40 years - so I've seen "conservative!" BTW, I think most great coaches believe that the stronger their defense is, the more conservative their offense should be. Not a bad way to win championships...
Pensacola, I believe they call it a "team rush". BTW, I met my ex in 'cola 1981, lived on P-Beach most of '82, and moved to a Caribbean island at end of that year. She's still down there. She went to UAB, anyway. But, she won more wet-Tshirt contests at 38 than any avatar posted on any LSU board. :geauxtige  :usaflagwa Yep, I'm a Vet, too.
I love how Pensacola has so many LSU fans. I have a condo in Navarre and spend most of the summer there. A few bars there try to make it like Louisiana. I know one place by Hooters has a Crawfish Boil every year.
I called him out on his made up AU status when he posted this same thing in another thread...he never responded. It's pretty easy to back up your point if you make up you own numbers. :dis:
