If he is so good why is Clemson firing him? I dont know if I would want a DC that just got fired from freaking Clemson.

I do like the fact about Chavis... but this could be more of a blessing. If he does come in and we get more solid commits on the D side... we could run more blitz packages and still have coverage on the outside. But at this point, i'm just happy we're probably not retaining either of the co-DCs.

for the same reason Chavis got "fired" from Tennessee.

    new coach = new staff.

EDIT: Clemson gave up 24 points in their last 3 games, so he is hot. :)

They only gave up 19 touchdowns and 294 yards per game on defense all year.

In comparison, LSU gave up 32 TDs and 320+ yards per game.

I think Clemson finished #1 in scoring defense in the ACC (#9 in the nation), so it wasn't about him being unproductive.

Chavis has a proven track record against the type of offense's we face week after week. He's much more experienced and, most likely, wouldn't be looking to bolt for a HC job in a couple of years.

If he's the guy..so be it. I trust Coach Miles to make the best decision here. I just miss the mean aggressive defensive play we had for several years..and Koenning doesn't seem to be that kind of play caller.

I just hope we can somehow get Coach O to take over the DL and help recruit. Pay him whatever he wants.

The best part of that video is the DB sticking with the Miami WR (man coverage).

Wow. I'd like to see that at LSU.

but still, why is he getting the "Now expected to be the new DC" tag? Any "proof" to go with this? Is there some reason this is sticky now?
