Smoke's frustration with not winning this race is starting to approach that of Dale Sr. before he won it.
He has a couple ten more to get there but if he would only quit winning the Saturday races he might just get there!
Great race but Newman was plain lucky. He was in the right place at the right time and his track positioning couldnt have been better. Kyle Bush had by far the best car today. Just ran out of laps and couldnt get a break with all those late cautions. However, the best car doesnt always win Daytona so thats not a surprise.
Agreed. The field was spread over the whole track. Without the debris caution with 40 to go, much different finish. Kind of had a feeling there was a glove on the track!
I was listening to Smoke's audio on the HotPass channel. When Shrub was working his way up with Smoke on his tail, Smoke was saying "Good God!", "He's gonna give me motion sickness!" It was pretty funny!
Those two are gonna be a heap to deal with as the season goes by. Got money on the shrub punting smoke somewhere throughout, visa versa maybe?
