1. That girl could kick everyone's ass on this site in golf too
  2. Posted by philter:
she already has qualified for the US Mens amateur championships

Actually she has qualified for the Men's Public Links Championship. :thumb:
  3. Good catch...nearly as impressive though. I would like to see her compete for the US Amateur too.
  4. Qualifying for the Pub Links is not that hard if you find the right place to play. I played in the qualifier missing out by 2 shots in 2002. They only took 3 spots from my location. Even par got you in. There are places that take 9-10 spots where 5 over puts you in. This is a 2 round qualifying in 1 day. The US Amatuer is much harder to get into. 2 Rounds, 2 Days where normally 3-4 under puts you in.

  6. like i said, you have to favor killing sponsor exemptions if you want unqualified people out.

so i guess you favor killing sponsor exemptions. it may be difficult to convince the guys paying the bills that they cant invite who they want.
  7. I would favor not having sponser exemptions. That will give us semi pro's great chances to Monday qualify into an event. Right now they take about 2 Monday qualifiers each event, except majors, this will let them take about 9-10.
  8. Whoever started this thread bashing David Toms...

    Here is my answer...

When Michelle Wie makes a cut, or wins a tournament, or wins a MAJOR...

    come find me! :)
  9. Exactly. The PGA is for all comers, any golfer on earth that meets the criteria can try and qualify for their events. The same thing with the US Open and the British Open. That's why they are called "Open". If these ladies and girls can qualify than let them in. Same thing for the US Amateur and Public Links.

As for the Sponsor exemptions, they are their so that the sponsors can name players to the field in order to help them promote their tourney and get the highest ratings and publicity possible, so they should be able to name any one who is qualified to play.
  10. what has michelle wie won? 1 trny against competition her age? she needs to learn how to compete and win amongst her peers before she has a chance to do anything vs top level. making a cut is one thing whil winning golf championships and learning how to compete is completely different.

i think her parents are doing her a disservice by pushing her in the pga arena so soon. so 4 years from now if she has won nothing no one will care that she made her 100th cut. she will be the kournikova of golf.
