Dandy Don is the man, an LSU man at that !!!!!!

 

Yes, it is you !

 

I don't like it and don't read it. His appeal is beyond me unless people are a fan of rehashed info from Tigerbait andTigerrag or they love spelling and grammar errors.

 

DandyDon is great for those that check their computers once a day.

I would assume he was one of those guys at one time and is targeting them.

For people that spend their day online, he isnt much of a help, and Im sure he realizes that.

 

As someone who dabbles in reporting LSU news on an unofficial LSU website, I have gained repect for Dandy Don. Typically, I am not too concerned with what he reports as being regurgitated. I like to read all LSU fans' opinions. He created himself a forum to do that. More power to him.

In a nutshell, it is hard for anyone who is not part of a major media outlet to give up to the minute news on everything.

 

Remember, most news is nothing but (at least) second hand information. (And antiques are nothing but used furniture ! )

 

don has always been gracious to me by alerting tiger fans on his site of the LSU and You show with Charles Hanagriff that's on every Thursday 11-12 noon (CST) and heard via the web espn1420.com ( yes it's me / the essence of spam.. grins )

 

I agree with the consensus in the thread that DD is a great LSU fan, and to criticize the few details that he gets wrong is to completely and utterly miss the point of his site. He's one guy who loves to talk LSU sports, and serves as a focal point for a lot of people to share info.

I also want to comment on one specific comment from Jeff:

That comment was made on the morning of 4/11, before Bo Spencer officially committed on 4/13. Given the dire need of a PG, that seems like a fairly significant change. DD doesn't do national basketball recruiting rankings so he had to be going off of info from other sources, which generally didn't have LSU in the top 20 at the time. The Hoopscoop ranking was after Spencer's commitment. Even with Spencer, none of the other recruiting services rank the class as high as Hoopscoop.

So Jeff jumped on DD and used a comparison based on evaluations made with different timing, and chose the most extreme case for his argument. In the real world, that's called cherry picking your data.

 

I read DD everyday. He is a good source for recruiting information.
