Babes Chicken is the best fried chicken in DFW, hands down. I love that place.

Dodie's is a great Cajun restaurant, operated by some fellow natives. Baton Rouge diner feel to it. They do Po-Boys right, as well as the Seafood Gumbo. The Bread Pudding is wonderful.

I like the steaks at The Keg, but I'm not sure if that is just DFW.

Monicas in Deep Ellum is good, but I'm not big on Mexican. My coworkers at Baylor eat there once a week.

A great Mexican traditional is El Phoenix.

I love Texadelphia. That mustard they make is killer. I like to get the big fries they serve and dip it in the mustard. Yum.

Gospel Brunch at the House of Blues make your Sunday much better, and you waistline bigger.

Okay, so where is Dodie's? For those of you not acquainted with DFW, it's so big, one has to determine whether or not it's worth the drive.

El Fenix is really good. Enchiladas with sour cream sauce are terrific. Another local Tex-Mex place we like is Blue Goose--locations on Lower Greenville and in Addison & Plano. In Plano, it's a weekend biker bar, as well. But my daughters like it because they hand out tortilla dough that the girls play with at the table.

Scotty P's is a good burger place with locations in Plano, Frisco, and Allen.

The Ralph & Kacoo's at McDermott & Central in Allen is pretty good if one needs seafood. It serves many of the traditional dishes from the Baton Rouge restaurant. I do take exception with their "A New Orleans Tradition" signs everywhere for a joint that opened its doors first in New Roads--but they've got to market, and no one's ever heard of New Roads.

It's on Greenville and Richmond. I think it's over rated personally. It's cool that it's cajun food and they have LSU and Louisiana stuff all over but the food is just ok in my opinion. I was just there Saturday actually.

That's one of the problems with the cheese steaks here in Philly. No mustard blend. I actually figured out the recipe from an ex-employee on a UT board.

2 parts mayo, 1 part spicy mustard and a dash of teriyaki.

    It's pretty damn close.

Fred's Downtown Philly Cheesesteaks has its own "special" sauce, but not a mustard blend, as far as I can tell. That being said, it's really good, and I'm not even that into sauces.
