Before moving to Tennessee, I was a Vol fan (unless they needed to lose to help LSU or if they played LSU). I have a few t-shirts, a couple sweatshirts and a jacket. Since moving here, I took so much grief over being an LSU and UT fan. People pretty much wanted me to pick one or the other. So, now I'm not a UT fan. :geauxtige I still have a few of the items...they make nice clothes in which to change the oil in the car or do dirty yard work...:thumb: Isn't it ironic that I'm now project manager for the Neyland Stadium Improvements project?
LOL...this leads me to a favorite story of mine: My sister---turncoat that she is, being a Louisiana native---lives in Austin. Back in 2002, my brother (still in Metairie) and I spent Thanksgiving in Austin. We were to drive back to watch the LSU-Arky game Friday afternoon at a Houston sports bar, so all I had clean to wear that day was a pair of jeans...and an LSU jersey. Long story short: one of my sister's many "UT fan" friends cannot make the UT-A&M game in Austin that same day, and offers his three tix to the three of us. Even goes so far as to buy UT gear for my brother and I so we'd "fit in" among the burnt orange season ticket holders. I'm proud to say I was the lonely purple dot amidst a sea of puke burnt orange.:thumb: Actually was treated quite well by the fans, one of whom grew up near the Sabine River and knew a number of Louisianians who lived across the border (and were rabid LSU fans, as every proper Louisianian should be). Still have a pic of my Hook 'em Horns-orange clad sister and brother...and me, wearing purple and gold. So, safe to say...hell freaking no I don't own any other school's gear. Well, not technically, at least: I do wear the most generic looking Tx A&M football shirt owned by my fiancee (Aggie grad she is) when we go to College Station. But it's *her* shirt. I just borrow it a couple of times a year, that's all.
I went to the Red River Shootout (OU vs UT) game in 2004. Both my roommate & I were decked out in LSU gear. OU fans heckled us. Texas fans mostly ignored us. But we were far from being alone. Tons of people came up to us & told us they were LSU fans, but of course that is in the middle of the Texas State Fair - so maybe not quite the same comparison.
NEVER. Moved to the Bay from BR 27 years ago. Been offered lots of Cal and Stanfurd crap. :dis: My nephews go to U of Arizona and have brought me gear. I told 'em: I WON'T WEAR ANYTHING BUT  LSU! No other colors matter, except :usaflagwa :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige PS I decided at the age of 5 that my favorite color was purple. IT STILL IS MY FAVORITE COLOR. :thumb: 'Nuff said.
