Of that group, I think Lafell is the only one to play most of his career (actually, all of it) under Miles. All of the others had at least half the time under Saban, and with much better QBs to throw to them.

Demetrius Byrd is the only other one I can think of under Miles, but injuries took care of that, sadly. It's not unreasonable to say that Miles hasn't produced many NFL caliber receivers during his time here.

If offensive weapon types start to see LSU as a place where they can't showcase their talents, then that has to be a concern for recruiting.

I dont think thats what LaSalle meant. Yes they won games and it is about winning as a team but at this level, the type of kids we are getting expect to go somewhere and at least be given the chance to produce. We are a football factory. Our guys go to the NFL. That is obvious AND straight from the mouth of CLM. Not every kid is gonna be a first round pick even if he does put up good numbers but come on man.....A bunch of these kids on the offensive side have not been put in any position to reach their full potential. That much is obvious. Its easy for a fan to say "well you won 13 of 14" but as a senior, after 3 years of EMBARASSING offensive futility, when you get to the biggest game in the history of the program and the head ball coach gives you no chance and decides to have a pissing contest and call the same 7 plays over and over as if the endzones are on the sidelines, AND leaves a QB that spent more time at Harrahs than getting ready for the game, you are probably justified in being a little bitter. I'm just a fan and my blood still starts to boil just thinking about it. I'm sure there are some guys from this team that will be upset about that game for a long time.

Miles should be coaching high school football. Saban was made for coaching college football, Miles was made for coaching high school football.

We have a high school coach running our offense, and his "offense" is a high school offense.

Exactly. You can't make a point without someone taking it to the other extreme. Some players go to LSU to give themselves the best shot of making it to the NFL. Like you you said, ASD. Not every player is a first round draft pick and games like the BCS title game gives them a chance to showcase their skills with everyone watching. It's not the 13 wins that they regret. It's the fact that the coaching staff did them no favors with the offensive choices. Losing hurts that much more when you are so close to the prize, especially when your coaching staff essentially gave up on trying to improve. Winning 13 games was very impressive and he deserved the awards to that point, but that doesn't excuse coaching stubbornly scared.

Other than this year, I wouldnt call Les a conservative coach.

And while I agree with the overall QB assessment of the last 4 years, lets not forget JL was the top rated passer in the SEC this year, wasn't he?

From the above article its obvious there is discontent on the offense. And understandably so. Les better take care of business.

Amazing how one game changed everything. LSU went from potentially being the best team in CF history to now having upset fans, upset players and a coach who just burned up an enormous amount of goodwill and fan faith.

To be clear, I still support Les, but I'm in the neutral zone now and will base my opinions on what happens from here.

Well it was a slam dunk against your point that Saban never would have recruited JJ, a highly touted prospect.

Oh please. Saban has lost 2 of 3 to Les.

Saban didnt produce any masterpiece of coaching, LSU's offense just flat out sucked. Extraordinarily so. Just like they stunk against Georgia for 30 min, who were not being coached by Saban.

This is more about LSU's pitiful offense and adjustments than anything to do with Saban.
