I don't have a team I really want to see win. I just know I would rather anyone other than TexAss win. Florida's a close second. Can't stand the Horns and Gators. That is all.
A little news from day 1 A genuine WTF moment for me: Jim Delany's fight to change the CWS - Omaha.com and CWS scene: Lot to like about first day of new era CWS firsts at TD Ameritrade Park - NCAA.com Vanderbilt bullpen steals the show - NCAA.com Florida rolls Texas in CWS opener - NCAA.com Omaha World Herald: College World Series - Omaha.com (I forgot how good their coverage is)
I obviously don't want Texas to win--they would be ahead of us in CWS wins if they did. But I especially don't want Texas A & M to win. The Aggies have awoken in the area and are obnoxious--more so than usual. Of course, one quick mention of the Cotton Bowl is still enough to bring tears... I don't like Florida, but a winner from the SEC would be fine with me.
Agreed, plus the big rivalry out here in the Bay in Cal/Stanford, and it's way easier to root for the East Bay public school than the Peninsula private school. As an added plus, their gold jerseys look a LOT like ours. It also helps that the blue on those jerseys almost looks purple.
They showed a slow motion picture of a bat making making contact with the ball. The head of the bat was pushed back 3 inches, sprung back 3 inches the other way, then came back 2 inches, ... It looked like a rubber bat in action :/ Good game, 0-0 in the bottom of the 7th. UVA has 2 on with no outs, so they may get something going here. Cal is bringing in their closer to try and shut UVA down. -------------------------------------- UVA wins 4-1
A&M got 4 runs in the top of the 1st. South Carolina answers with 4. Looks like a track meet so far...
So much for the track meet when it was tied at 4 after the first, South Carolina loads the bases in the bottom of the 9th and gets a bomb of a walk-off single to win 5-4. The SEC is 3-0! Even if it is them easterners... During the South Caroline-Texas A&M game last night the announcers were talking about tailgating and Nomar Garciaparra said he wanted to do some tailgating and was going to target the LSU crowd. Then both announcers went on about how LSU fans represent even when the Tigers aren't in Omaha. How great is it that LSU is hands down the number 1 fan represented college baseball team in America? Is it even debateable?
