Ok, sorry but this will bug me all night. Hester did it on the game winning touchdown against florida. But no timeout was called so even though he did it so he could stay on the field for the extra point, he still had to come out. Flynns broke against Bama on Early Doucet pass. He played injured but before we decided to run a play, we called a time out so Flynn could go back in. Rules of football are if the trainers have to come out to see you, unless you call a time out, the "injured" party cannot be on the field for the next play. Oh, and the kid had thrown a pitch that inning, now I don't know if his belt was broken before he went out there or not but he had thrown and if you look at the replay when they show the meeting on the mound, you can see his belt is broken. In any event, still a cheap trick and he could have continued to throw with it broken. It was not a major equipment problem.
brother-in-law just texted from Omaha that a storm is brewing and the temp has dropped about 10 degrees in 20 minutes. I hope we're not looking at a delay...
Any of you guys heard any kind of weather related news? We are in a severe thunderstorm warning here. The BP nets were pulled off of the field and the tarp is ready to be rolled out. There is a crew that pulled it out, and look to be waiting on the word to roll it out. It has been clear skies and hot as **** all day. With NO wind. About 45 minutes ago they let us in the stadium, the clowds covered the sky and a 25 mph very cool wind started blowing straight in. I'm guessing this game will not start on time??
Weather channel is showing a nice sunny window from now till about 10pm which should be enough to trounce Texas and get back to the hotel.....
Radar shows a very small but strong pocket of rain just N/W of Omaha. Might cool things off but doesn't look like anything that would cause a long delay. Current Omaha-Valley NEXRAD Radar Map : Weather Underground
And the tarp just got rolled out. Still not unfolded and on the dirt yet though. Really starting to look dark behind center field. UPDATE: big drops are falling and the tarp is over the dirt. No lightning yet though
On the radio they said the temperature dropped 20 degrees in 30 minutes and the wind picked up. They also said that a baby tarp is on the pitcher's mound.
