Yep, I saw that Texas play doing that, and I thought was a ass. I think we should beat them so bad tonight, there will be no question who is the National Champion. :geauxtige:geauxtige:geauxtige:geauxtige:geauxtige
Dang. Ya'll are a tough crowd. What I saw was a kid having fun and being fired up playing a game. I saw nothing that would cause me to call any of their players and a$$. Furthermore, over on hornfans.com, for the most part they have been very complementory of the Tigers performance last night. Don't forget guys, these are kids and they are permitted to be exuberant, talk a little smack, and have fun. That said, I do hope we put the wood to 'em tonight! :geaux:
What about the pitcher's belt. How many of us bought the story on the belt actually being broken? That was some of the cheapest tactics I have ever seen! What a disgrace!
At 6:00 am, the question of the hour on WWL radio was.."Is LSU a team of destiny or can Texas come back and win tonight. I called in and gave them the answer, the lady said hold on and the next thing I knew I was on the radio. I said, "LSU is a team of destiny, Texas has no chance at all tonight. They just played the game of the year and still came up short. They're scratching their heads right now wondering...What do we have to do to beat these guys. There are two reasons why LSU is a team of destiny...We have two freshmaen who have ice water running through their veins and are cool as cucumbers: Mattey Ott and Mike Mahtook. It's unbelievable to think that these true freshmen are performing on the national stage with such confidence in their abilities." The radio announcer got excited at what I was saying and started talking about Father's day and mahtooks dad. I replied that I was aware of that because that's all the ESPN announcers would talk about when Mahtook came to bat. (I really didn't want to tell them I was playing the Mike Patrick drinking game and became incoherent at the bar by mahtooks third at bat !!)
Crap, I'm about to sound like a UT homer. I thought the same thing, as did the announcers, until Erin A held the belt up to the camera. It was broken. I guess it's possible that they broke it beforehand, but not even Orel had heard of someone doing that before. So, if we had done it, would it have been disgraceful, or clever? Now, I'm going to go back to work so I can't defend anything Texas anymore! :geaux:
Yes, it broke before he threw a single warm up pitch on the mound but was just fine in the bullpen......ok.
UT, has to use every tactic available, As they found out last nite, there will be no walk off walks or meltdowns to give them the game. On the other hand I think we found out that they are a pretty good team.
