  2. I'm back!! Really wet but back. The rain finally stopped.

Tarp is coming off of the field as I type.

8:00 game time, I would assume.

    Let's geaux tigers.
  3. The sad thing about that is that OU wins the Big 12 in football ever year, while Texas never wins it.

The other problem with Texas is that the state is so big they have two flagship state universities and their people are strongly divided among themselves between love for UT and love for Texas A&M. You talk to A&M fans, they make it sound like UT is a bunch of gay hippies that are a disgrace to Texas. Cool thing about Louisiana is that there is single-minded devotion to LSU (except for the weird fringe groups that cheer for ULL or Tulane or whatever).
  4. 7:43 first pitch
  5. John, not to jump on all your www. knowledge, but this is about LSU and winning a CWS National Championship. I am sure I would be enthralled with this football roster information in, lets say, August.
  6. and finally some common ground.

  7. Tea-Sippers. Gotta learn to live with em.

    Gig 'Em, Aggies!

(That was for my Dad, an Aggie, class of '48)

And here's was Dad's favorite Aggie joke: Q: "What do you call an Aggie six months after graduation?"

    Answer: "Boss."
  8. No, I'm talking about the Texas baseball team that we are playing tonight, not the Texas football team. The Texas team that we are playing tonight, the Texas baseball team that we have to beat to win a CWS National Championship, 91.2% of their players (31 of 34) are from Texas (the other three are from California). Compare that to LSU: 64.7% of our players (22 of 34) are from Louisiana (only two are from Texas: soph. Gibbs and soph. Dishon). Of course, Louisiana only has 18.1% of the population that Texas has.

Yet, it is interesting to see how deep the Texas pride is on the Texas bench of the team we are playing tonight, the team we have to beat to win a CWS National Championship. Regarding the Texas baseball team we have beat to win a CWS National Championship--the whole team pretty much grew up singing:

The stars at night - are big and bright
Deep in the heart of Texas!
The prairie sky - is wide and high
Deep in the heart of Texas!
The sage in bloom - is like perfume
Deep in the heart of Texas!
Reminds me of - the one I love
Deep in the heart of Texas!

    and

There's a yellow rose in Texas, that I am going to see,
Nobody else could miss her, not half as much as me.
She cried so when I left her, it like to broke my heart,
And if I ever find her, we nevermore will part.
She's the sweetest little rosebud that Texas ever knew,
    Her eyes are bright as diamonds, they sparkle like the dew;
You may talk about your Clementine, and sing of Rosalee,
But the yellow rose of Texas is the only girl for me.

and loving the Texas flag, the flag of the Lone Star State:

  9. lol. So the division among Texas people is between love for the gay hippies of UT and the sheep-molesting hillbillies of aTm.
  10. Oh ok, relevant I guess
