He pulled one guy too early and pulled the other one too late on the mound, cant remember their names. Doesnt matter we won, Im happy.
Dude, I don't know what game you were watching, but Coleman's fastball was clearly hot and cold. I have never seen him throw so many flat ones before. It probably had a lot to do with the conditions, but he did not have his typical movement on plenty of those ones that were launched out.
20/20 hindsight. The starter was cramping and had to come out. The other guy couldn't find the plate and was pulled after 6 pitches. The reliever struck out the batter. It was the right move.
Not the point. Manieri knew what he had and didn't want to risk going with the unknown. It was a tough call for him and, as it turned out, he played his cards right. Coleman is a bulldog. Bradshaw, Bertuccini, Cain, Ross, whoever, might have been nails or might have put a couple on b efore giving up the dinger. You've got to trust CPM. He's shown that his instincts are golden.
I don't care what your point is. You said Coleman was pitching great. He was not pitching great. He has pitched great in the postseason so far, but he was pitching inconsistently last night, and that's a fact. I personally thought he should not have started the 7th. I trust our bullpen enough to pick Coleman up on one of the few days when he couldn't carry the team, and they proved to be solid once they got in there.
