Greetings from Africa :usaflagwa ; Deployed and still can't get enough of our Tigers!

I know there have been a ton of threads about play calling and how that went wrong.

Question I have is in regards to looking back at the Georgia and Bama, our OLine got dominated in both games (especially UGA 1st half, all of the BCSNCG).

Let's give credit where credit is due, both defenses played lights out against us.

Was the OLine struggles more a result of play calling or just not showing up / being outmatched? Does it worry you moving forward? If it's play calling I am confident we'll make the necessary changes. And our D is going to be fun to watch next year.

Can't be more excited about next year and our Tigers :LSU231: Just wanted some insight from some fellow tiger fans, thx. :geaux:

to answer your question, I don't think the o line struggled as much as you think. Defenses stacked the box agaisnt us because they weren't afraid of our passing game. It's hard to block 8 games with 5 linemen and a TE. we became way too one demensional. It worked against weak defenses because we could over power them. Bama's defense was nasty, and we didnt open up the offense enough in the NC to really give them any reason to spread out and open running lanes.

by the way, thanks for serving our country, and we look forward to your safe return home.

Thanks for your support and insight. Mismatched schemes when it came to the big boys, leave me optimistic that it will serve as growing pains for the coaching staff moving forward - LSU is still stacked...I have a Bama grad on my team and Fall cannot come soon enough as far as I'm concerned!

We showed Bama nothing new. Nick is a smart coach and he had a plan for every offensive look that he had seen before. No one can block a top defense on every play, you have to keep them off-balance to have consistent success.

TigerTap - his plan was to shut down J. Lee he did not prepare as well as he should have for the JJ option plays. I am sure if he thought JJ was going to play 2/3 of the game he would have prepared for that also.

To ignore the fact that the o line was totally out manned and played poorly from the first is to ignore reality. Obvious mistakes early in the game such as Hurst's false starts on critical downs missed blocks showed the line wasn't up to domination or even a draw with the gump front 7. Why they didn't try T Bob or L'ael I don't know and wish they had. Same with JL he should have been given a shot though with the o line performance I fear he would have been destroyed
I don't put all the blame on the line.
My opinion is that this coupled with JJ's increasingly poor play caused CLM to pull the game plan and hope for ST or defensive TO to change the game.
The Jan 9 debacle was a shared responsibility with Les, JJ and the rest of the O all a part.
Those who want to put 100% on Les and 100% on JJ reasoning is as faulty as their math.
It was a team loss and we got whipped as a team in the same way we won as a team 13 other times.

As long as we open up the offense, we'll see dramatic improvement. I hoenstly believe (and hope) that the only reason we didnt throw as much is because the confidence in both QB's wasn't there. It was obvious, but I hope Miles and Stud let Mett air it out. LSU has some of the best athletes in the nation and we need to use them. Not just at RB, but in all levels. The o line was basically asked to block 8 people with 5-6 men. It's hard to create running lanes agaisnt great defenses like bama. We had success agaisnt smaller defenses like oregon, but it was obvious that not spreading the defense out cost us a NC. We recruit very well at o line, and have some serious studs coming back. Faulk, Hurst, Lonergan, etc, plus Collins should be an amazing linemen for us, and many others in depth waiting for their turn. a balanced offense will do magical things for this team. The running lanes will open, the play action will open, and you'll see our stats improve. As for the bama fan, let him enjoy his moment, cuz this fall they'll see a different team!

    LOL

I will not go there what I will type is . JJ is not a QB , In the rematch Les did not coach to win . two facts .
3rd fact . JJ did nothing to win the 1st game in 2011. The defense won that game . LSU moved the ball enough that the def was not competely worn out . JJ had a great BCS Title game didn't he ?? The Saints need to grab the next pac man want ah be . JJ and the Saints a match made in N'awlings
