When my younger son was around six years old he told me that he didn't have to learn how to read real well because he was going to be a baseball player. Thank the lord he came off of that, of course I told him he couldn't play at LSU if he didn't do well in school so that helped. I think getting him a subscription to Sports Illustrated for kids was probably the smartest thing I did for his education. Now he reads recipe and cooking technique books all the time and memorizes them. And he'll be a great chef very soon as he has the passion that is needed.
