Sure he was an upgrade, that was not my point. I just don't understand all of the Jimbo bashing that happened since he moved along. The same people praised Jimbo while he was here. It's just as childish as the Saban bashers.
That was the thing I hated the most. Run, run, JR get us a 1st...It was like watching Meechigan under the helm of Lloyd Carr.
I was satisfied with both Fisher and Saban as our coaches--no real complaints. I love Crowton and Miles. I don't think there's anything wrong with us expressing that.
Okay, but you seem to be taking criticisms of Fisher rather personally. And I don't really think they're criticisms; they are comparisons of the styles of the coaches.
Don't get too excited. The play calling in the first half sucked, especially on second downs following great runs by Scott. The second half was much better, but then he had more options with a quarterback who was actually a threat to complete passes.
J. Lee went 0/5 and 1 INT in the first half. He weasn't a threat to complete a pass until something clicked in his head in the second half. You can't blame Crowton for calling the plays like he did in the first half. He called passing plays and both our QB's didn't seem to have it together. So he had to adjust. That's not sucky play calling, that's just doing the only thing you can do. Heck, we only talk about players and nerves but who knows, this is only Crowton's second year and his first time in Auburn. With the history of the home team winning, I'm sure he felt some pressure and that might have affected his play calling. But the truth is, he did what he had to.
If the plays work, you're good. If they don't, you suck. It's always been that way and it will always be that way.
