I have a pile of gump friends and acquaintances and I hear ZERO meltdown. Next year will be a year that it could happen if they have similar performances to this year but there is nothing now. I figure most of those comments are from red neck gumps or auburn fans trying to stir the pot.

That may be true....they may not be in meltdown mode but you have to know they thought they would beat MSU and are having a hard time dealing with it. I grew up in Birmingham as an LSU fan so I have first-hand experience with these wackos. If Saban was annoyed at LSU for the "What have you done for me lately" attitude then just wait. He'll be bolting from there in 5 years.

Why do you think Rich Rodrigeuz stayed at WVU? Someone got to him and told him how insane Bama fans are and how they wear the hat of their coach who's been dead for nearly 30 years now.

First of all, this notion he's the highest paid coach isn't correct. Never has been. Will he be? Perhaps later on in his contract, but certainly not this year.

To consider FSU an inferior team doesn't reflect the athletes that team fields. I don't disagree in the least we were outmanned this past Saturday. It was a case of offensive execution.

The argument about the talent gap is a true one. The talent is there, but by no means matured. And, that includes starting transfers from schools like Middle Tennessee St. and UAB.

I've never been one to say his coaching ability is superior to others. I've most adamantly said he's leagues above the past staff.

As to the comments in response to this guys blog...I pay no attention to them. There isn't anything telling about who they are from and I know they don't represent the opinions of those that matter.

In the future there is a belief Bama can compete for another one under this staff. But, insinuating the talk of another NC this year? I've got to call BS on that one BJack. I didn't see that, anywhere.

Bammers have never had a lack of ego, but I never saw any championship talk on the Bama boards. TideFans had a poll last summer and the majority of them voted 8-4 with a shot at 9-3. There were more that voted 6-6 or 7-5 than 12-0.

Then my comments were most certainly not directed at you in particular, cause there are an overwhelming amount of Bama fans that would put their life on Saban being a superior coach to any in college football. Seems you're a little more reasonable.

I know we had a thread on what Bama's record would be this year. I searched but couldn't find it. Maybe someone else would have better luck because I think it would be an interesting re-visit.

I know I didn't have them losing to MSU though, and I think that most of Bama fans expected that W. That is what causes concern more than the record at this point.

I agree, while delusional Bama fans abound, I have never personally seen any of them mention winning a NC this year. Most of them feel that 09' will be their year.
