I hope the "Saban Christmas Party" info is true, but I'll wait for the press conference. But this has to become a recruiting negative for LSU. Every year, the other schools will say "see, Saban interviews with the NFL every year, you know he wants to go, why sign with LSU, Nick could be gone next year". That reasoning has been used successfully against Penn St. the last 5 years because of Joe Pa's age. I don't think its a deal killer, and maybe Nick's charm can overcome it, but it is at least a small negative for our program.
Looks like a carbon copy of last week's WJBO announcement of a Saban press conference on Wed. of last week. Lets hope this time there really is one. I am ready to hear him say he is staying! Good point there Agua about the location of the press conference.
Good question, does not say where it is at. the Christmas party was bunk, but I would not put ANY water into the BR factor if its there. Means nothing...
http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm SABAN SPURNING THE FINS? We're hearing unconfirmed reports from Louisiana that LSU coach Nick Saban is staying put, and that he'll decline the opportunity to coach the Miami Dolphins. Again, this is an unconfirmed report. Stay tuned for more.
Logic would say that the press conference would not be held at LSU if he is leaving. But then again, this whole process defies logic
This story will break via the football team - Saban will tell the team first and they will tell relatives. Even if he meets with the team five minutes before the press conference, the official decision will break via the players first...
Probably, but given all the rumors flying, it'll be hard to believe anything that is said second hand. We'll probably know the location of the PC (if there really is one) later this evening or first thing in the morning.
If we get something second hand that has a player's name attached to it it will be better than anything we've heard thus far...
