My family had a float in that parade for several years and it was one of the most fun times I ever had. But I have not been in maybe 8 years. I hope it is just as big or bigger. St. Paddy's completely snuck up on me this year.
The St. Patrick's Day Parade is usually the first spring event where the girls are all out in summer uniform. Sadly 70% chance of rain is predicted and temperatures in the 60's. Still, beer will be consumed, crawfish will be boiled, and corned beef will be roasted.
I want to sit next to him at a crawfish boil. I'll double him easily. Peeling the vein out? being afraid the straight tail one's will kill you? Cocktail sauce? 15 lbs. only? I bet he even pours his beer in a glass to drink it.
I never peel away the first shell segment. It takes too much time. After sucking (while squeezing) the head, I put the tail against my slightly open front teeth and use them to push that segment back so I can grab the tail meat lightly with my front teeth as I pinch the tail and pull the meat out with my teeth. Another, more professional, technique is to just break the tail off behind the first segment instead of at the joint where the head meets the tail. So has anyone gotten any in the last couple of weeks around New Iberia/Lafayette? I think my mom is gonna try and get some for my birthday in a couple weeks and I'm just wondering if they have gone down at all since the last time we got them. Also, are they decent size?
We stopped at Crawfish Town USA on the way down for Spring Break. They were good, but man that place has gotten pricey! The last time I was there was 20 years ago - picnic tables and benches. For a 4# order, it was $22.00! The kids had a great time though. All the signs I saw in BR were 2.49 live.
