Told you all that he either knows and he is right...... or he is trying to become the most hated member on TigerForums again.....
Question is if he does stay will LSU fans think (As I might) Hell he really doesnt want to be here, Miami did not give him what he wanted so he settled back into his LSU job ??? Fact is if Saban stays (WHich sorry guys he aint) he better come with a speech of a lifetime of why he dragged the university, its alumni and the entire state of Louisiana through this after his "I found a home", "I am not going anywhere", "I want to build a dynasty here" speeches. because frankly, its obvious to me after 3 years of this Saban has other dreams, one of which does not include coaching LSU. And frankly, if he does not want to be here. Thanks Coach.. See ya later...
Saban doesn't owe anyone any speech. He doesn't have to explain his actions. Everyone in the world knew Saban wants to be an NFL head coach one day. If he decides to coach LSU next year and we win, all those who are whining and complaining about this will be kissing up to him once again. Man, this is getting old .... some of you fans need to relax and get a grip on reality. There is life outside of LSU football.
If you notice, this entire Saban episode has vaulted him into 6 dots. Lots of people desperately holding onto to hopes that he is correct. If he is correct, watch out, he is coming after you as the dot king! :hihi:
I agree Texas. I don't care if the meeting was leaked out prematurely. It is obvious recruits are on the fence right now about coming to LSU, and we need this situation to resolve so we can get a top coach in here that can secure those recruits before too much time has gone by and they commit elsewhere. Just like the next guy, I really appreciate what Saban did, but these antics by his freakin' agent is unbelievable, and really pissing off many LSU fans. Not to mention, it's draining the excitment out of the Bowl game coming up against a very good Iowa team. Tirk had a direct quote in his sig where Saban said he has no interest in the Miami Dolphins job, and is happy at LSU. Even if he stays, no one is going to believe what he says about future NFL jobs. The Falcons job was ten times better with a better owner, a good D, and Michael Vick. What do the Dolphins have, a decent aging defense and Chris Chambers? I fault Skip for being pressured to draw up a contract that had no buyout so we can sit here with a thumb up our @#$, and wonder what's going to happen.
I just tried to make FightinTiger the "dot king" but failed. Grrrrrr.... When the election ended, that is when Crawfish's stock started rising.
I think many people overlook the fact that although Saban is tremendous as what he does, he can and has been a prick about things. The entire no buyout clause is an example of one of those things. He is basically holding LSU hostage to his every whim. It's the reality of the situation. We have to deal with it. LSU showed him loyalty by making him the highest paid coach in the college ranks. His payback to LSU is to consider whatever NFL offer comes around thats looks appealing to him. Hey, but when you are as good as he is, you can be a prick. Nick has just chosen to wield his powers and be that prick. Maybe most of us, given that chance, would do the exact same thing.
Saban made those comments in early November of this year too: http://www.lsusports.net/article.cfm?ref=1F300F96-FC05-A944-CB3609F23CE7AFA6
Find me any of these quotes by Saban, any of them. I've heard him say he loves it at LSU, his family loves Baton Rouge, I'm happy here, I'm not planning on going anywhere, I want to build a dominating program, etc. I've never once heard him ever mention the word "dynasty". Never onve have I heard him say "I'm not going anyhwere" or "I'm never leaving" or "I'll be at LSU forever". If he decides to stay he will simply say that he thought about the Dolphins offer long and hard and decided that he and his family are better off at LSU. If he decides to go he will say that it was a very tough decision but in the end it came down to his lifelong dream of coaching in the NFL and that it was a really hard decision to leave LSU as it has been the best time of his life. He'll thank everyone associated with LSU, compliment the greatest fans in the world and tell us all how he feels good about the condition he is leaving the program in.
