I have a class with him. I have not noticed anything. At least I have not seen any crutches or anything. Who knows?
Ask him if you can perform a physical exam of his knee. Tell him its for a biology class or something. If you detect any popping or clicking or if his knee locks up we may have a problem. Also if his knee should fall off of his leg during the exam that would be bad news too.
