Actually, it was a great day of crabbing! My kids had never been in a marsh and to get to take them on their first crabbing trip was a blast. Nootch and Mrs. Nootch were great hosts, southern hospitality at its finest :thumb:

Just getting back out on the water was awesome! I LOVE being back in south La. Hopefully we can get back down there again really soon.

On a side note, I am pretty sure that I am the only poster here besides Nootch who has gotten to touch the bouy. I feel empowered. I could feel the power surge through me. Fear the bouy!

Thanks again Nootch. We all had a great time. I sincerely appreciate your hospitality and generosity.

I never see that many crab unless I visit Market Street. That is a few hundred $$ worth of crab in Lubbock.

I had fun. I can stay on the water all day and never complain.
Really enjoyed having you and your family over. Y'all are more than welcome to come on back and do it again any time.

On a side note, my youngest hasn't decide yet which of your daughters he likes best, so he may just try to land both of them. :hihi:

actually, Cali beat you to it.

    wow!!
i'm gonna have to bring an ice chest or two of crabs up that way.

We ended up going to a friend of a friend's camp near Pecan Island. Used the nets with chicken necks. Caught enough to boil, not that big though. My kids enjoyed it and that was the plan anyway :thumb:

hey Kyle, remember that shell road where we launched the boats?

this is what it looks like from top of the levee as of about 10 minutes ago:

terrible quality pic since i took it with my phone.
between the 2nd and 3rd telephone poles, there was white caps crossing over where there should be solid ground.

talked to a friend of mine just now who works for water patrol.
there's a guy and his girlfriend or wife missing in a boat out there right now.

went out shrimping last night, was due in around 2-3am.
still hasn't been seen or heard from.
coast guard and water patrol have been searching since the weather cleared up a little.

    lake barre/the gulf

had a storm blow up outta nowhere overnight right off the coast (prolly caught the missing boaters completely off guard).
too close to land to develop, but it had some circulation to it.
weather was down right nasty this morning. hell of a group of thunderstorms passed through around 8-9 this morning. wind still blowing at a pretty good clip, and gusting even harder.
