CPM is COTY

    I agree, but the same can be said for van horn.

    All I am saying is VH got his club to the same place with less talent, all criteria considered. Flip the tables and I would argue the same for CPM. Give CPM that hog lineup, does he carry them as far? I am not so sure.

    It is all just an opinion but doing the same with less talent carries a lot of weight with me which, may not amount to the same for others.

    Managing talent is a challenge all in itself. It isn't just throwing a lineup out and letting things go.

    Yep cpm is on top of it. He knows what inning it is late in games.

    A lot easier to coach talent. Any coach will tell you that. Both are a challenge when you have a loaded roster however.

    IMO you can't separate the players and the coaches as some do. The head coach is ultimately responsible for recruiting those great players and for their development along with the won/loss record. So he does deserve coach of the year.
