Easily the most intelligent thing you have posted in this thread.

I'm generally a small government kinda guy, but this is where I part company a bit with Ron Paul and other more rigid Libertarians.

Public schools do more good than harm (worth the $ in the long, macro view). I think roads are another example. Not perfect, but appropriate.

I miss the No. VA school system - my daughter took at least a grade-level step backwards moving from VA to FL. It's all about the tax base. The median income (guestimation) in our VA neighborhood was probably $40K more a year than it is here. Maybe even higher than that. Those kids are parented differently and the teachers are paid better. Ergo - better schools.

It's not just money. Utah schools are very good and there ain't a lot of big money in Utah. But there are also not a lot of apathetic parents either. Parenting is the issue, too.

Just because you spend more money doesn't make something better. This is something the current and last administration don't understand.

i agree. but in this case it would if spent correctly.

and this doesnt apply to the current adminstration. the one big ticket item was for stimulus, not really to make something better. the upcoming big ticket item number two is not to make health care better, just more accessible.

Why don't you define more accessible?

What is the price point that most of these Uninsured can afford? Would this price point be based on age or condition? Would you have to tax something else to help subsidize this portion? and if you did would those being taxed be able to afford their health plan anymore?

Man the vagueness Obama spouts is like a disease.
