No, Steele is stealing a million, plus incentives. Here's a link with what they are all making... http://www.nola.com/lsu/index.ssf/2015/08/lsu_football_assistant_coaches.html#14
I guess my biggest question is how do you have so many busts at DL and LB? The staff does most evaluations in on campus camps plus they do visits at games, so they've seen these players play. Many of these players were highly ranked and heavily recruited by other major programs. Are evaluations that poor, or is player development that poor? If it's evaluations, then many other teams are doing a poor job evaluating these same players. Gilmore had offers from Ohio state, Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma and many others. Heron- Ole Miss, Arkansas, Miss St, Clemson, Tennessee, Texas. You can't say these guys didn't have talent. Same story at LB.
That's why I think Steele\Orgeron has a chance to work, however Steele has a lot to prove and has shown nothing yet. Miles\Cam, who in the Hell needs to see more?
My question with the Miles/Cam situation is one where I think everyone knows, but doesn't know the answer. How much leeway does Miles actually give his OC? Is this Cam's offensive scheme or his scheme that is "massaged" by Miles? Has Miles ever let an OC at LSU be in control of the offense and run a scheme that is advantageous for our players abilibties and exposes what the defense's deficiencies? My thought is that what we see on the field is not Cam's Offensive genius and is certainly kept in check by Miles. My opinion is that that Jarett Lee's freshman year of pick 6's has forever changed the way Miles thinks about the QB position and has made him limit what he will allow with the OC to do with our Offense and how much he will allow the QB's to contribute to winning games. If this is the case, and Miles is really limiting the OC's ability to direct our offense and grow it into something that other teams have trouble stopping and figuring out, the I expect that we will be a consistent 8-9 win team that plays in a minor bowl game from now on out. If you don't allow the OC to put a product on the field that challenges the players to be better then we will be stagnant and mediocre. It won't matter who the OC is with Miles at the Helm
I think everyone knows this offense has Miles fingerprints all over it. However Cameron comes from the same coaching tree. The only way this offense changes IMO is if Miles job is threatened and I'm not convinced it would change then.
You are right. I think Miles is too stubborn and would go down with the ship before he changes philosophy. The best Offensive team we have played all season long (from a the standpoint of a team that looks crisp, knows what they were doing, were in position at all times, had variety in the play calling, etc...) was Western Kentuky. I think in a year or two the Brohm guy will make an excellent OC for a power 5 school.
Think it's a collaboration between Miles (@tirk says HC/OC) and Cam, with Cam operating with a box of old chewed up crayons rather than a full, fresh box.
